“Expanding Kids' Horizons!” is NSC's motto. Neighbors join hands in a spirit of cooperation and good will to create a healthy environment for children, families and individuals to carry out the NSC mission. Annually hundreds of individuals and representatives of neighborhood organizations work together to share time, talents, resources, and caring. Resources come in many forms, but the secret weapons for making Neighborhood Service Council the successful organization it has become are trained volunteers Over 100 volunteers help to serve children and youth enrolled in NSC programs, including MY TIME Teen Camp, ADVENTURE TIME After-School Program, and Tweens After-School Program. NSC is proud of its being able to operate throughout the year with a very small paid staff.  Money is required for staff and also fixed operating expenses such as insurance and utilities.  NSC depends on contributions from indivi-duals and organizations in the community to keep it going. Virtually all of the money goes to support NSC's programs.  Every dollar you give directly benefits the local community. By helping the kids to develop, you directly act to arrest the cycle of poverty and keep blight from spreading throughout our community.
